The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has expressed grave concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Manipur, highlighted by the incident today where the Governor of Manipur was compelled to take a helicopter from Imphal International Airport to Raj Bhavan, a distance of merely 7 km by road, due to prevailing insecurity in the state.

The Congress Party has raised critical questions regarding the removal of the word ‘Manipur’ from a Manipur State Transport Corporation bus, asking who instructed the Governor’s office to authorize such an act that undermines the identity and pride of the state.

The Congress Party asserts that the so-called ‘Double-Engine’ BJP government has comprehensively failed Manipur over the last two years, with President’s Rule also proving ineffective in restoring normalcy and public confidence in governance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s repeated failure to address the Manipur crisis and the continuous breakdown of law and order have left the people of Manipur abandoned and unheard.

The Manipur Congress has further demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah take responsibility for the prevailing situation and tender his resignation.

In light of the ongoing crisis and administrative collapse, the Congress Party calls for the immediate recall of the Governor of Manipur, emphasizing that the state cannot be left to suffer under continued indifference and ineffective leadership.

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee reiterates its stand with the people of Manipur, demanding accountability and urgent corrective measures to restore peace, governance, and the dignity of the state.
