The removal of the name ‘Manipur’ from a Manipur State Transport Corporation bus carrying journalists sponsored by the DIPR, Government of Manipur, and the obstruction of its movement by security forces, constitute serious violations of law and an affront to the dignity of the state. The law must prevail, and those responsible must be held accountable.
The pride of Manipur, the “Shirui Festival – 2025”, has been manifestly undermined and deeply hurt by these actions.
Even the BJP Manipur Pradesh, through its President Smt. A. Sarda Devi, has raised questions about the imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur and the failure of the Modi government at the Centre to ensure free movement and security within the state.
The BJP must stop resorting to empty words. They have failed the people of Manipur.
Now is the time for the people of Manipur to decide their future: whether to continue under a failed President’s Rule or to seek a fresh democratic mandate that truly represents the aspirations of the people.
The so-called ‘double-engine government’ has failed Manipur. President’s Rule has failed Manipur.
Should the people of Manipur be left with no choice but to demand a fresh mandate to reclaim their dignity, peace, and future?
