Some schemes and central allocations were stopped or slowed, citing “law and order” concerns and “improper fund use”.
Lack of Private Investment. Investors and businesses are avoiding Manipur due to instability and fear.
No new industries or infrastructure development has occurred at scale.
This worsened unemployment and poverty.
The recent floods worsened the crisis, damaging roads, bridges, crops, and homes. It happened due to three major failure of Water Resources Department. Negligence in the maintenance of Dolaithabi Dam.
Organised loot took place in the development works under Flood Management and Border Areas Programme in which scam happened out of Rs 460 crores package .
